Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh
Head (Research and Development)
Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh is a leading researcher in nanotechnology and sensor development. He holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), where he developed electrochemical and optical techniques to detect mycotoxins in food. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Houston, he integrated nano-plasmonics with microfluidics for exosome detection in plasma, enabling early cancer diagnostics. At FORTH in Greece, he miniaturized immunoassays using nanomaterials for rapid pathogen screening in drinking water. With over ten years of academic experience, Dr. Singh has published over fifteen peer-reviewed articles and four book chapters, amassing more than 300 citations. In his role as Head of Research & Development at Indo Climate Lab, he directs R&D strategy, oversees cross-functional teams, and leads the translation of lab-scale prototypes into scalable, low-power sensor devices for health, environmental, and food-safety monitoring. He champions open-source hardware, data-sharing, and community-led monitoring to inform policy and drive regenerative practices. Dr. Singh envisions cost-effective, portable sensors powered by renewable energy and digital platforms to support biodiversity conservation, pollution tracking, SME decarbonization. Under his leadership, ICL will launch pilot programs in biomass based hydrogen generation, citrus-based essential oils and its forecasting, reflecting his commitment to sustainable innovation and impact-driven science.
